Tuesday Night at the Museum



June 9: Roger Heineken and Kim Holcomb will present “Little Green Tents: The Artifacts, Poetry and Life of Walt Mason.” Mason was the most widely read poet of his time, dubbed by William Allen White the Poet Laureate of American Democracy.

July 14: DeWayne Backhus, chair of Physical Sciences at ESU, will present “Enjoying the Summer Sky.” He will also bring some of the of E.L. Trouvelot prints of the night sky. A number of the hauntingly beautiful prints are archived at ESU.

August 11: Max McCoy will present “Kansas Meteorites.” McCoy is the author of Strangely Heavy: A True Story of Passion and Rivalry in the Meteorite Fields of Kansas.


Talks are free of charge and take place at 7 p.m. at the Lyon County Historical Museum, 118 E. 6th Ave. Phone: 620-340-6310.
